At the beginning of September 2008 Arqiva received approval from the Competition Commission for its merger with National Grid Wireless.

Arqiva acquired the National Grid Wireless group of companies in April 2007 and since then the two organisations have operated completely separate businesses while the Competition Commission conducted its inquiry into the merger.

Now that the inquiry has ended, Arqiva and National Grid Wireless have begun the process of bringing the two organisations together.

One of the first steps in this process will be changing the names of National Grid Wireless Limited and its group companies, which will trade under Arqiva branded names from Monday, 22 September 2008.
